Introduction
K9HeartCircDB is a publicly accessible database of circular RNAs (circRNAs) derived from canine left ventricular tissues in a tachypacing-induced model of non-genetic dilated cardiomyopathy. It enables researchers to explore circRNA features, including divergent primers, siRNAs, predicted miRNA binding sites, and novel polypeptides encoded by circRNAs. The platform serves as a translational resource for studying circRNA-mediated mechanisms in cardiac remodeling and heart failure.
Navigating the Home Page
circRNA Search
Enter a gene, circRNA ID, or a keyword in the “Enter Query circRNA” search bar to explore desired circRNA
Interactive Elements
The K9HeartCircDB contains interactive hyperlink elements that link to the Downloads page in a new page. This allows for quick access to raw data (e.g., IRES, OFFs, Orthologs, etc.) for downstream analysis
UCSC Genome Browser and Other Databases
K9HeartCircDB provides links to UCSC Genome Browser along with other related circRNA databases for further analysis and information on selected circRNA of study

Navigating Search Results
Search Results
All results from quick search will be displayed and sorted based on K9db-ID, and include the corresponding ROS_Cfam1_Chr_ID. To get further information about the circRNA, you can click the “Show More” or “Full Details” option
Show More
The “Show More” button provides quick statistics on ORF, miRNA, and IRES information on selected circRNA
Full Details
The “Full Detail” button takes you to another page and provides advanced information on the selected circRNA
Information includes:
-
Genomic Location (e.g., Chromosome, Start/End, Strand)
-
Sequence (e.g., Exon, Length, Spliced Sequence)
-
Spliced Sequence can be directly copied for further analysis
-
-
circRNA ID Conversion (e.g., Other Dog Database IDs, Human Ortholog IDs, Mouse Ortholog IDs)
-
Divergent Primers (e.g., FP1, FP2, RP1, RP2, PCR Template)
-
siRNAs for circRNA (e.g., BSJ Sequence, siRNA Sequence)
